Product Description

Destroy Layers

The Great Plains Inline Sub-Soiler is another step in the evolution of our vertical tillage family designed to eliminate yield-robbing compaction layers created by horizontal tillage tools such as plows, disks, and sweep implements.

The Inline Sub-Soiler’s frame features high tensile 3/8" wall tubing for added strength and durability. It is equipped with three to eight shanks that are spaced 24" to 40" apart, and is available with two shank options: 3/4" and 1-1/4". The 3/4" no-till shank and no-till point provide maximum shatter with minimum surface disturbance. The 1-1/4" straight leg shank creates more surface disturbance for minimum tillage.

Product Features

AUTO RESET WITH 3/4" SPRING STEEL SHANK

Our exclusive 10" no-till point minimizes soil disturbance while creating maximum fracture below the surface.

BERM CONDITIONER

Designed to firm the soil after density layers are reset by the Sub-Soiler shanks.

ADJUSTABLE GAUGE WHEEL

A screw jack makes adjusting the gauge wheel a quick and simple task.

SHEAR BOLT WITH 1-1/4" STRAIGHT SHANK

Available with either 2" or 7" points. Will not only fracture under the surface, but will create more surface disturbance.

51 cm Heavy-Duty Utility Coulters

Large 20" (51 cm) utility coulters cut residue directly in front of the shanks. This allows it to pass by without catching the shanks.

Fall Tillage: How to Deal with Ruts

Before and After: Turbo-Max® Vertical Tillage Implement
November 11, 2014

Stuck in a rut? Not for long!

With all the additional moisture during fall harvest, the conditions have led to moderately to severely rutted fields around the country. To ensure a nurturing, uniform seedbed and avoid yield-loss, these ruts must be removed prior to spring planting. Ruts cause problems for all types of producers, but they can become an especially unique problem in low disturbance no-till fields. No matter your tillage preference, Great Plains has a solution to combat a variety of field conditions.

Customer Testimonials

Steve V., Southern Colorado

"Finally found a unit that fractures the hardpan. Traditional V rippers are a thing of the past."

“If all is well with the roots, everything goes well,” says Pieter van de Merwe from Kriel in the Eastern Highveld region of South Africa. The main principle he pursues in planning his tillage practices and the acquisition of equipment to do the job is to create the best possible environment for the roots of his corn.
