Great Plains continues to expand its highly-successful PL-Series family of planters. Launched in 2018, the PL-Series planters were developed to provide accurate and consistent seed singulation, spacing, depth control, soil contact, and trench closing – all leading to even emergence and increased crop yields for producers. Models in the PL-Series include the PL5500, PL5700, PL5800, and most recently, the PL5200.

Great Plains has recently developed a new solution in its hybrid tillage line-up – the Terra-Max. Great Plains defines hybrid tillage as a tillage system that uses a blend of vertical and conventional tillage methods or tools that allow for an aggressive field pass at faster operating speeds. Named “Terra”, meaning “Earth,” the Terra-Max is a versatile soil management solution that can be used as primary and secondary tillage to address a wide variety of needs from killing weeds and sizing residue to preparing a perfect seedbed.

SALINA, KS – In 2020, Great Plains will debut an all-new feeder cup, which will be at the heart of a new line of box drills. This is an exciting development for the product line that launched the Great Plains story over 40 years ago. Agritechnica visitors to the company’s booth at B37 in Hall 5 will have the opportunity to see the feeder cup in action, thanks to a specially designed interactive display. The display will have four self-contained metering units that will be metering a variety of seeds and fertilizer.

Great Plains Introduces All-New Planter Line
SALINA, KS – Great Plains’ new planter series hits the Agritechnica stage in 2019. The PL planter line features an all-new 5000 Series Row Unit including new Air-Pro® Meter, electric drive, shorter closing wheels, customizable row units, and 15" (38cm) opener blades with ½" (13mm) leading edge. In Hall 5 Stand B37, the PL5000 Series Planters will be represented by the 8-row PL5500 and 12-meter PL5800.

SALINA, KS – For tillage producers who are looking for new ways to maximize efficiency and make data-driven decisions about their fields, Great Plains has released a new technology called Implement Command™. The new technology allows producers to make active decisions and on-the-go, real-time field adjustments to improve yields and soil health. Implement Command will be available in 2020 for 18' to 35' models, as well as 6.0 and 8.0 meter models.
